Established for Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra

Dennis Hampton was a long time resident of Mammoth Lakes. He arrived in the 1970's for a fun ski vacation and loved Mammoth and winter sports so much he never left. Dennis found his home among the other wonderful Mammoth locals and loved skiing, kayaking, hiking and mountain biking. He was happiest when he was talking with his friends and listening to their stories. In memory of Dennis, his family and friends are establishing a scholarship fund to sponsor children with disabilities so they can participate in outdoor sports here in the Eastern Sierra. Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra, a program that Dennis loved and supported, teaches children of all ages and all disabilities.
Disabled Sports believes the freedom and exhilaration of outdoor challenge changes lives. No one should be left behind simply because of a disability. DSES offers lessons year-round in sports including skiing, snowboarding, hiking, rock climbing, boating, etc. These therapeutic activities assist children in developing to their greatest potential while learning about the glorious Eastern Sierra.
The Dennis Hampton Memorial Children's Scholarship Fund has been established by family and friends with the hope it will be continually supported by friends and community members to assist those with disabilities enjoy the multitude of opportunities in the Eastern Sierra. If these children can do this, they can do anything!!!!
