2007 welcomes the return of the June Lake Triathlon. Originally started in the late 1980's the race has a history of ingenuity and success, Mountain Fitness and the High Sierra Triathlon Club bring back this unique event to the Eastern Sierra. In our inaugural year, we have invited Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra to be our beneficiary. Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra is a volunteer-based nonprofit dedicated to changing the lives of children and adults with disabilities and their families by offering year-round outdoor sports and activities.

We aim to attract 200 racers for this year's race. Triathlon, now an Olympic Sport for two Games, has been gaining momentum and popularity over the last decade and we hope to follow in the footsteps of some of the most successful triathlons capping entries at a few thousand! San Diego, just hours away, is the triathlon capital of the world! Southern California, Reno, Tahoe, Las Vegas and the Bay Area all hold a large group of triathlon competitors always looking for a new race with unique character. At 7,600 feet, June Lake sits in one of the most beautiful lakes basin at the base of Carson Peak.

Racers choose from two courses: Super Sprint and Olympic distances.

Olympic Distance Triathlon:	1.5k Lake Swim/40k Road Bike/10k Trail Run
Sprint Distance Triathlon:	1/4m Lake Swim/8.2m Road Bike/2m Trail Run

There are quite a few ways you can be a part of the festivities!

• Donations in the form of merchandise, race equipment and services are welcome.
• Monetary donations allow us to allocate the funds. The race proceeds are donated to the Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra and are returned to the High Sierra Triathlon Club, both 501(c) 3 non-profit organizations, for the purpose of fueling next year's race.

All monetary donations are tax-deductible. We look forward to bringing back this event year after year and re-kindle the tradition of the sport of triathlon in the High Sierra.
