Intern Job Description


Position Title: Intern - Winter or Summer seasonal positions may be available.
Program: Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra
Reports to: Intern Coordinator
Pay: Stipend for term of internship (housing not included)
Winter: Up to $600 depending on experience
Summer: Up to $600 depending on experience
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Graduate or equivalent, college degree or in process of degree.
Certifications: Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) Adaptive certification desired but not necessary (winter only). Current First Aid/CPR and/or Wilderness First Responder preferred (summer).
Experience: Ideal candidate would have some experience working with people with disabilities. Winter: knowledge of skiing (preferred) and snowboarding preferred but not necessary. Summer: knowledge of summer outdoor recreational activities preferred (climbing, biking, kayaking, rafting, hiking, etc.) but not necessary.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPLE DUTIES
Intern will be involved with all aspects of the winter and/or summer program including program planning, implementation, evaluations, leading clinics and other miscellaneous office duties and projects.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
WORKING CONDITIONS
Time will be spent outdoors (90%) and indoors (10%). Percentage of time in and out will depend on individual intern requirements.
