WALK NOW is a 5K Walk and Community Resource Fair benefiting Cure Autism Now. The event is held at a number of locations throughout the U.S. and was held in Los Angeles at the Rose Bowl on April 16, 2005.

Before and after the 5K walk, visitors had an opportunity to meet local autism service providers in a kid-friendly, carnival-like atmosphere.

Providers included a wide variety of educational resources, therapists, schools and recreational organizations including Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra.

While parents obtained important information on available resources, kids were entertained with Moon Bounces, Arts and Crafts, jugglers and other fun activities.

More information is available on the WALK NOW FOR AUTISM website at www.walknowforautism.org

November 5, 2004's Volunteer Orientation Meeting for Prospective Volunteers for Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra was a great time for everyone.

After a brief history of the founding of DSES by the Executive Director, Kathy Copeland, Staff Trainer Karen Taketomo gave a short description of the 6 disciplines involved in Adaptive Skiing.

Pizza and Sodas were provided and many interested people signed up to take the training clinics being taught by DSES’s very own staff.
